Aksaam and Refaisa will hold a national workshop on Agroka’atinga in the semiarid region
The National Workshop on Agroka'atinga in the Brazilian Semiarid region starts tomorrow, the result of the Technical and Educational Program of Agroforestry Systems (SAF's) in Agricultural Family Schools and Communities, implemented by Refaisa since June 2020.
Refaisa is a partner of Aksaam and has been implementing innovative experiences through the Pedagogy of Alternation in School Time and Community Time and contributing to sustainable rural development through the systematization and dissemination of knowledge, experiences and good practices.
The event continues until the 13th and aims to disseminate the concept of Agroka'atinga as a climate-resilient agriculture system, contextualized and appropriate for the Caatinga biome. Family farmers, community leaders, students, researchers, ATER professionals, EFA monitors, educators, traditional peoples and communities will participate.
The Workshop is carried out by Refaisa through Aksaam and the Bem Diverse Project, with co-realization of the Regional Institute for Appropriate Small Agriculture (Irpaa), Federal University of Vale do São Francisco (Univasf), Arthur Bernades Foundation (Funarbe), Instituto of Public Policies and Sustainable Development (IPPDS), Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), and has support from UNDP, Global Environment Facility (GFF) Misereor and IFAD.
