Experiences with Agroecological Fairs and Productive Backyards at the Procase Project, in Paraíba
Agronomist and Master in Social Sciences, Miguel David, participated in the third module of the Webinar "Dialogues on Food and Nutrition Security", held by the Aksaam project on June 9, 2021.
He made an important presentation on the successful experiences of the Procase project, which is supported by IFAD in Paraíba, with agroecological fairs and productive backyards. To illustrate his talk, he detailed the work carried out in the Mororó community, in the interior of the state.

The role of women in Food Security - Lecture by Professor Laetícia Jalil - UFRPE
Professor at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), Laetícia Jalil, participated in the second module of the Webinar "Dialogues on Food and Nutrition Security", held by the Aksaam project on May 13, 2021.
She spoke about the importance of rural women in the food and nutrition security of rural families, and the use of agroecological books as a source of income. Laetícia also showed a study done on the impacts of Covid-19 on the lives of women in rural communities. The audio of the lecture, in its entirety, composes the fourth episode of our podcast.

2nd Module of the Webinar Dialogues on Food and Nutrition Security” - Lecture by Dayane de Castro
Professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Dayane de Castro, participated in the second module of the Webinar “Dialogues on Food and Nutrition Security” presenting an overview of indicators for assessing the situation of Food and Nutrition Security in Brazil. We extracted the audio of this participation in its entirety and created our third episode of Radio Aksaam.

First webinar module ‘Dialogues in Food and Nutrition Security’
Now the first module of the Webinar “Dialogues on Food and Nutrition Security” is available for you to listen to. That's right! Our second episode brings in full what happened in this first stage of the event, which brought together technicians, technicians, farmers from projects supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Brazil, as well as people from academia.
Two themes guided this module. In the first one, actions in Food and Nutrition Security were socialized, with a preferential focus on municipal, territorial and state public policies, and actions of two projects supported by IFAD: Viva o Semiárido, in Piauí, and Paulo Freire, in Ceará, in addition to from the State Secretariat for Rural Development and Family Agriculture of Rio Grande do Norte. The second theme brought a historical overview of Food and Nutrition Security in Brazil and in the world, with the participation of Maria Emília Pacheco, representing FASE; Anabele Pires Santos, from UFOP; and Alexandre Pires, from ASA.
